Christine Yates is one of Australia’s senior female bankers but still has time for what is important to her….
Christine Yates has enjoyed a long and successful career in connecting the things she cares about most: business, banking, and people.
She is the Executive General Manager of Australia’s largest private bank, but still has time for her family, her dogs and for being an advocate for diversity.
Christine entered the professional world as a Chartered Accountant and naturally found her way into banking. She joined NAB in 2010 and led the Debt Markets Origination business and in 2012 became the Executive General Manager of Financial Institutions Group and International, managing NAB’s business with banks, insurance companies, funds and other non-bank financial institutions, as well as being responsible for NAB’s New York and London Branches.
She has worked in the debt markets of Institutional and Wholesale Banking for more than 20 years, covering the disciplines of credit, project finance, acquisition finance, relationship management, syndicated loans and debt capital.
Passionate about diversity, Christine led the growth of the Women in Banking and Finance Industry organisation, which supports women in their professional careers with networking and mentoring opportunities.
Christine was born in Australia, is married with three daughters, aged 23, 22 and 18 and is based in Sydney.
She holds a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.
The video below features one of Christine’s team, Anika Taylor – Client Relationship Manager for NAB Private on the Gold Coast. Anika talks about why she is looking forward to the Women of Influence event, Wednesday 13 September.
