Women of Influence proudly supports local charity RADFLY (Realise a Difference for Local Youth) a not-for-profit organisation developed by Gold Coast volunteers to address poverty and improve the lives of underprivileged young people on the Gold Coast. They do this by supporting existing youth organisations Ohana for Youth (encompassing Arcadia College) and YHES House.
YHES House is a purpose-built shelter in Scarborough Street Southport. It’s a safe, friendly and non-judgmental environment where young people’s rights are respected. The shelter provides a range of health and well-being services for young people and also runs a program where young parents can learn about birthing and parenting.
Arcadia College is a co-ed secondary school offering a safe, inclusive and future-focused education and well-being program. Based at Varsity Lakes on the Gold Coast, we are very fortunate to teach many bright and amazing students from all walks of life.
CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS WITH US AND SUPPORT RADFLY
Christmas is known as a meaningful time of celebration and traditions, and a special time to catch up with people we care about. This time the fun, laughter and festivities can be enjoyed without the madness of the silly season! We aim to nurture the mood of Christmas with hope, compassion, and love towards young people on the Gold Coast.
HOW:
We invite you to celebrate and support in two ways:
- By attending the RADFLY Christmas in July Launch
- By hosting your own Christmas inspired get together
WHEN:
From 13th to 21st July 2018, RADFLY is launching an exciting new opportunity to support Gold Coast youth organisations Ohana for Youth, Gen Z Employment, Arcadia College and YHES House:

Please join us for a very special Christmas dinner at Greendays Restaurant, Bundall.
FRIDAY 13 JULY 6pm for 6.30pm
$60 per person
(includes a fabulous 2 course Christmas dinner, bubbles or mulled wine on arrival, entertainment, lucky door prize and as always, sensational raffle prizes)
HOST A CHRISTMAS IN JULY EVENT
A Christmas in July event is FREE to host and can be shared with friends, family, work colleagues or fellow students located wherever is convenient for you – feel free to use your imagination! As the host, you are welcome to ask guests to pay for a ‘ticket’ to attend the event or hold raffles as your means of raising funds for young people and youth organisations.
It’s EASY! All you need to do is register your interest, then you will receive an email from RADFLY with information to help you organise your gathering including:
- a collection box for funds raised
- a registration kit containing loads of ideas and goodies
Upon completion of your registration, you will be recognised as a Host and contributor to the total raised funds in our newsletter and website, and on our social media (if permission is given). We want to recognise the generous businesses and individuals who are making a difference to local youth.
