Meet Josephine Dewe, a dynamic businesswoman, devoted mother, and a dedicated Committee Member of Women of Influence.
Proudly residing on the Gold Coast, Josephine boasts over 15 years of experience in senior roles across various sectors, including state and local government and, more recently, in the state’s central financing authority. Whilst her career has seen her lead complex strategies and portfolios, her unwavering passion for the local economy and empowering women have driven her to this pivotal role.
Reflecting on her involvement in these diverse activities, Josephine shares, “The Women of Influence community opens doors. It’s a great opportunity to forge professional networks, make new friends, and experience personal growth.” She finds the community a platform where women can connect, engage in thought-provoking discussions, embrace wellness, and contribute to the empowerment of others.
In 2022, Josephine launched her small business, ‘Life is a Party,’ with a vision to empower women through vibrant, bold, and individual fashion pieces. Growing up with her mother running a florist in Paradise Point, she understands women’s challenges in building their brands and business. Through Women of Influence, Josephine believes that small business owners can find the support and encouragement they need to thrive.
Josephine’s commitment to uplifting others is evident, embodying the core values of Women of Influence. She believes that empowering others defines us as members of this community and emphasises that joining Women of Influence doesn’t necessarily require being in business—it can be about women uplifting women and fostering a brighter future for all members.
Having grown up in the Gold Coast area, Josephine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, majoring in Economics, Banking and Finance from Griffith University Gold Coast. Her passion for giving back to the community is apparent through active support for numerous Gold Coast charities through ‘Life is a Party’ and personal pledges, showcasing her dedication to creating a positive impact.
