We rise by lifting others

There was such positive energy at our last event for 2019, the annual High Tea and Business Bubbles at RACV Royal Pines last Friday 29 November.

The event was sold out once again and ladies (and a few gentlemen) were excitedly arriving early to enjoy a fun afternoon.  There were almost 200 guests although the buzz and warmth felt like it was an intimate garden party.

As the busy WOI committee and RACV team set up the room, waiters started pouring cold glasses of bubbly and bringing out tiered trays of delicious sweet and savoury treats.  We had also arranged for the OneSpa team to provide guests with a neck and shoulder massage and the Arbonne ladies were on hand to touch up makeup and offer shopping “must-have” items for under the Christmas tree.

What a way to end the year!

Everyone loved our guest speaker, inspirational businesswoman, author and speaker Lisa Burling.  WOI President Georgia Lane interviewed Lisa about her book, her story and how she turned her life around from devastation to happiness and success by telling herself to dream small and stay focused.

We loved Lisa’s honesty, humour, charm and determination, it was lovely to hear such a very real story and learn from her positive attitude, not to mention a few fashion tips.

Many guests lined up to purchase her book “Dream a Little Dream”, and Lisa kindly donated part of the proceedings to our charity partners RADFLY.

Women of Influence also donated a big cheque for $5,000 to RADFLY, all raised from our raffle sales and support from our generous sponsors.

This will hopefully ease the burden and bring some joy to Gold Coast Youth.

RADFLY stands for Realise A Difference For Local Youth, and the passionate RADFLY Committee dedicate their time to the organisations supported by RADFLY, YHES House and Arcadia College.

Visit the RADFLY website which has been partly funded by Women of Influence in conjunction with our sponsorship partners WPGENI.

What our guests said...

A fun way to finish off the year networking with other like-minded professionals, business owners and entrepreneurs in the gorgeous setting at the Gold Coast resort. The High Tea was beautifully styled using the gorgeous fabrics and textiles of local talent Niamh Brennan & Sonya Romeo of 3Beaches

The gorgeous Lisa Burling was the amazing guest speaker at this event. She shared her powerful and moving journey about how she overcame losing who she was to become the woman she is today - a strong, elegant, authentic, intelligent and beautiful entrepreneur, mother, partner and woman. You are an inspiration Lisa! Fabulous interview Georgia Lane.

A Big Thanks!

Big thanks to our amazing committee who dedicate their time outside their work and family commitments to deliver these fantastic events.
