In November we bring you the very popular “High Tea and Bubbles” – our only afternoon event of the year and one that is always sold out prior.  It’s a fun format starting at 2:00 pm with welcome drinks, then sitting down to a sumptuous spread of High Tea delights created by Royal Pines Executive Chef.

This year we have award winning Author and businesswoman, Lisa Burling.

Lisa Burling went from living the dream as a public relations powerhouse with an international public relations career, a proud mum of a beautiful little boy, and the wife of a supportive partner to living her worst nightmare when she suddenly became an unemployed single mother of two little boys under three, one of whom was grappling for his life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Waiting in the Centrelink queue to discuss single parent benefits, and as she grappled with how this was her reality, she decided to set up a business — and most people thought she was crazy.

Come and hear Lisa as she talks about her first book, Dream A Little Dream – which gives you a front row seat into how she used the power of dreaming small and quickly shifted her reality from one of unexpected trauma and devastating heartbreak, to fulfilment and opportunity. If she can do it, you can too!

Lisa Burling was living what most would refer to as the dream. Hugely successful global PR career, constantly around A-list celebrities, living in London and regularly popping over to Spain for the weekend. Money was no issue; everything you could want, she had, and, she was really loving her life.

Then, the expectations of a woman’s age came knocking and she gave up her life and career to move back to Australia and start a family. And as life would have it, it didn’t go to plan. She found herself with a 3-year-old and a 48-hour-old premmie baby in intensive care, she was left as a single mum while still in hospital, and with no job she moved home with her parents.

Refusing to accept her new reality, in just four short years Lisa has gone from an unemployed single mum to an award-winning businesswoman and entrepreneur (as Founder and MD of one of Australia’s leading PR consultancies, LBPR), the creator of Australia’s first student PR consultancy, Catalyst, and a global ambassador for women’s entrepreneurial movements Inspiring Rare Birds and the AusMumpreneur Network. Oh, and she’s now an author!

She is an absolute inspiration on how by dreaming little, you end up achieving the big stuff!
