The secret to a long and happy life

Women of Influence gathered in the ballroom of RACV Royal Pines Resort in September 2021 for a breakfast event that was all about discovering our reason for being.

We discussed the topic of IKIGAI. Japanese believe everyone has an Ikigai or reason for being and for getting up in the morning.

Jodi Robertson, our Vice President, lived in Japan for many years and discussed this topic by hosting a Q and A panel with Julie Jomeen Dean of Health from SCU and Jane Welsh, an Ikigai enthusiast who delivered a TEDX talk on Ikigai.

Our guests took home a lovely gift card to remind them of their own Ikigai.  The questions to consider:
⁃       What gets you up in the morning?
        ⁃       What is your passion?
        ⁃       What is your purpose?
        ⁃       Who is your champion?
⁃       What 2 things do you have to look forward to?

This event reminded us that now more than ever before, it is important not to forget to make plans or have something short term and something long term to look forward to and never lose sight of JOY in your life because without it, what’s the point?

Thank you to all our wonderful sponsors – without whom these events and fundraising efforts would not be possible.

And thank you to all our many regular and loyal event attendees and welcome to our community if this was your first event.

We raised over $3,000 for our charity partners RADFLY.  The much needed funds will go towards purchasing laptops for our Gold Coast youth at risk.

A wonderful way to share the joy!
